VISCOSE RUG CLEANING

YELLOWING

A common problem cleaners face with viscose rug cleaning is yellowing or browning due to lignin oxidation. Thanks to some of the fastest drying technology in the industry, without the use of any heat, 98% of the moisture within the rug is eliminated within a matter of minutes.

COLOR BLEEDING

Viscose rugs can easily absorb dyes but they can also easily release them once they’re wet. This depends on the particular chemical processes that the manufacturer uses during production. To avoid bleeding or loss of color, every rug we work on is vigorously tested for dye stability.

STUBBORN STAINS - GONE!

You’ll often hear that viscose rugs are done for once they’re stained. In fact, even specialty rug cleaning experts avoid viscose rug cleaning altogether in most cases.

Our client had spilled coffee on their rug and had a carpet cleaner come into their house to try and fix the problem. Because of lack of experience and the proper knowledge on the procedures to utilize in proper viscose rug cleaning, the cleaner simply applied their usual steam cleaning routine on the rug.

This resulted in an absolute disaster – you had discoloration from the steam cleaner as well as added color stains from the coffee (all on a viscose rug!)

Most cleaners call quits on viscose rug cleaning when stubborn stains under normal circumstances occur… See what we did and what our client had to say about it!

This place is fantastic. I bought a gorgeous [viscose] rug from Restoration Hardware for my daughter’s room. After having it for 6 months or so sadly it was pretty worn. We have a small dog and though he’s house broken he has a sensitive stomach and unfortunately threw up on the rug a couple of times. I tried to scrub out the yellowish stains myself. I tried white vinegar and water (found this recommendation online) and even rented a professional carpet cleaner from Home Depot which seemed only to damage the rug further. I was convinced the rug was ruined but thought I’d make one last attempt to restore it. So glad I found Babash. I dropped off my rug and was seriously shocked when I picked it up a week later. It looked brand new! All surface stains were gone and the rug had a beautiful subtle sheen! I have a few other RH rugs in my home and will only trust them to Babash. Don’t even think about going anywhere else for rug cleaning.

What can I say. We bought an expensive viscose rug from Restoration Hardware stained on clearance, obviously a floor model. Brought it to Babash and they were working on similar rugs as ours. From the moment I spoke to Ali and the other gentleman there I was impressed. Ali called when the rug was ready as promised and when we laid the rug down it was incredible- like new. They also explained how I could maintain the rug. And to top it all off they were very reasonably priced. I would not take my rugs anywhere else.

VISCOSE AREA CARPET CLEANING

The challenge with viscose rug cleaning is finding the right maintenance provider and being able to sort through the literature on the internet to find the truth on maintaining it. The simple matter of the fact is that viscose rugs require some extra steps and some know how so that the right processes & detergents are used to assure safe & effective results. Dog urine on viscose rugs is different than on wool. Most of these extra steps are steps that we usually take with other rugs anyways, so performing them on viscose rugs is just a part of our 11 step deep cleaning process.

We’ve personally had over 30 years of experience in dealing with rugs from around the world. Recently we’ve been receiving a lot of viscose rugs from the recent Restoration Hardware Ben Soleimani collection. Check out some of the other kinds of rugs we clean!

sep-iconThe Bottom Line on Viscose Rug Cleaning

It is true that viscose rugs, in general, aren’t as durable as wool rugs and that the chemical process under which viscose fibers are produced are bad for the environment: the literature and anecdotal experience we’ve had with this fiber are very clear. However, its one of a kind look, which comes at a fraction of the price of real silk, is often worth the downsides, especially if you can manage to put the rug in an area of your home where traffic is minimal. With proper care, these rugs can last you a long time, once more not as long as real silk or wool, but the decision on whether viscose is right for you is up to your individual circumstances.

If your concern is maintenance, viscose rug cleaning and viscose rug stain removal, you’ve come to the right place. The proof is in the pictures: we know how to take care of silk rugs to not only avoid damage but to make them appear as when you first bought them, and one of the most talented stain removal teams on the planet can handle any issues regarding accidents.
